Field Technician Location: Powai / Western Line, Mumbai Experience: 2+ years Education: ITI / NCTVT / Diploma Interview: Face-to-Face We are hiring experienced Field Technicians / Elevator Installation Technicians for our Mumbai operations. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in end-to-end elevator installation, lift installation, modernization, mechanical fitting, and electrical troubleshooting. Experience in the elevator industry is preferred, and candidates currently working as Technicians or Installation Technicians are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will be responsible for installing new and modernized elevator units while following Schindler installation methods, safety procedures, quality standards, and technical guidelines. The role also includes coordinating with supervisors and customers, monitoring installation progress, reporting working hours, identifying non-compliance, and ensuring timely completion of assigned work. Candidates with ITI, NCTVT, or Diploma qualifications in Electrician, Fitter, Mechanical, or Lift Mechanic trades are preferred. Candidates must be willing to work across four Mumbai branches, including Powai / Western Line, and should be open to relocation within Mumbai when required. Key Responsibilities Perform installation, testing, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of elevator systems. Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and routine safety inspections. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, electronic, and control-system faults. Attend emergency breakdown and service calls and restore equipment operation safely and efficiently. Inspect and maintain elevator components including motors, brakes, cables, pulleys, doors, sensors, switches, control panels, and safety devices. Perform adjustments, lubrication, alignment, cleaning, and replacement of worn or defective components. Test elevator operation after repairs and maintenance to ensure safe and reliable performance. Read and understand electrical diagrams, technical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications. Assist with installation and modernization/upgradation of elevator systems where required. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable elevator safety standards. Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and records of parts replaced. Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, building management, and customers regarding service activities and technical issues. Identify recurring problems and recommend corrective or preventive actions. Maintain tools, equipment, and spare parts required for service activities. Required Skills Strong knowledge of elevator electrical and mechanical systems. Hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience. Knowledge of elevator control panels, motors, sensors, switches, door systems, and safety circuits. Ability to use electrical and mechanical testing tools. Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings. Good problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a technical team. Good communication and customer-handling skills. Willingness to travel to customer/service locations. Ability to respond to emergency breakdown calls when required. Education & Experience ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline. 15 years of relevant experience in elevator/lift installation, maintenance, servicing, or repair. Experience with residential, commercial, or industrial elevators is preferred. Freshers with relevant ITI/Diploma qualifications may be considered for junior positions.
